Meet the CRIMPiT founders Ian & Mike

How did CRIMPiT begin?

How did CRIMPiT begin?It all started in the UK with a hungry swimmer, an early-morning training session and a very messy snack.

Our inventor, Ian, was making peanut butter and banana toasted snacks for his son, an elite swimmer who spent a lot of time training before most people were even awake.

They tasted great. They just weren't particularly easy to make - or eat on the go.

Ian thought there had to be a better way.

So he started experimenting.

For almost a year, he designed, tested, tweaked and prototyped different ways of sealing everyday ingredients inside bread and tortillas.

Eventually, CRIMPiT was born.

In late 2020, Ian teamed up with Mike, bringing together product invention and marketing know-how with one simple ambition: make everyday food a little more exciting.

And people seemed to agree.

Today, CRIMPiT has grown from one dad's idea into a range of products used in more than two million homes around the world.

But there's one country we're particularly excited about right now...

Why Canada? 🇨🇦

That's actually quite a personal one.

Ian recently travelled across Canada and, like a lot of Brits who visit, came back talking about it rather a lot.

The Rockies. Banff. Lake Louise. The people.

But there was something else he wasn't expecting to be impressed by...

Your tortilla aisles.

Seriously.Pesto tortillas. Italian herb tortillas. Different grains, flavours, sizes and styles.

Compared with what we're used to back home in Britain, the choice was incredible.

And it made us realise something:

Canada and CRIMPiT might be a pretty perfect match.

Canadians already love tortillas, wraps and quick, convenient food.

CRIMPiT simply gives you a completely different way to use them.

Fill it. Crimp it. Cook it.

Leftover chilli. Chicken and cheese. Breakfast wraps. Pizza pockets. Apple pie. Whatever you've got in the fridge.

That's why we're genuinely excited to be bringing CRIMPiT to more Canadian kitchens.

And we're only getting started

We're a British-founded business, but we don't want Canada to simply be another country we ship products to.

Our ambition is to build something here.

As the CRIMPiT community grows across Canada, we're exploring how we can bring more of what we do closer to our Canadian customers - including our ambition to manufacture CRIMPiT products in Canada.

It's early days, and we'll only make that move if Canadian demand supports it.

But we'd love the people who discover CRIMPiT now to be able to say:

“I was there at the beginning.”

From one homemade prototype in a British kitchen to CRIMPiTs being made in kitchens across Canada...

It's been quite a journey.And hopefully, we're only just getting started. 🇨🇦💛
